ABOUT

Meet Lucie, Owner & Pilates Instructor in Yarmouth, Maine

Lucie’s passion for movement began at the age of five through gymnastics and ballet, and has evolved over a lifetime of athletic exploration. From soccer and snowboarding to triathlon and martial arts, her diverse athletic background laid the foundation for a deep understanding of how the body moves, adapts, and recovers from injury.

Lucie began her professional fitness career in 2001 as a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor at Equinox in New York City, where she transformed her love of movement science into helping clients build strength, resilience, and confidence. During this time, she was introduced to Pilates at Chelsea Movements in NYC, marking the beginning of a lifelong commitment to Pilates-based training.

Her career has taken her across the globe, working with a wide range of clients—from post-natal mothers to elite mixed martial artists. In 2007, Lucie relocated to Asia, where she worked with Chatri Sityodtong, founder of ONE Championship, at Evolve MMA in Singapore. There, she trained alongside world-class Muay Thai and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu athletes and taught FightShape group fitness classes tailored to martial artists. Simultaneously, she worked as a personal trainer at Body Temple, specializing in training women of varying fitness levels, including pre- and post-natal clients.

In 2018, after the birth of her third child and while navigating a significant hip injury, Lucie discovered Pilates group reformer classes. Pilates became instrumental in preparing her body for major hip surgery and supporting her post-surgical rehabilitation. This personal experience deeply informs her compassionate, injury-aware teaching style today.

In 2021, Lucie began her Balanced Body Comprehensive Pilates Certification under master instructor Melissa Connolly, and soon began teaching private sessions and classes in her home studio. She later expanded her teaching to include group reformer classes at Move ME Pilates and large-group mat Pilates through the recreation departments of Cumberland, North Yarmouth, and Yarmouth, Maine.

In 2024, Lucie discovered CoreAlign, a dynamic movement system emphasizing gait, posture, and functional strength, and began her certification with Tom McCook.

Functional, Injury-Informed Pilates for Real Life

Lucie’s teaching style is firmly grounded in movement science, functional biomechanics, and a thorough understanding of injuries and postural patterns. Under the mentorship of world-class instructors, she has developed a method that delivers efficient, full-body Pilates workouts while meeting each client exactly where they are.

Her classes and private sessions are designed to:

  • Build functional strength and stability

  • Improve posture, mobility, and movement efficiency

  • Support injury prevention and rehabilitation

  • Challenge clients safely at their individual level

Lucie finds profound joy in witnessing the physical, mental, and emotional transformations that occur as clients become stronger, more confident, and better able to move through daily life with ease.
